BoG oak
The 1mm BoG oak is not a specific species, but is rather a term that designates the oak that has been buried in a peat bog for hundreds and sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low Oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from decay, while the under lying peat provides acidic conditions where iron and salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct brown to almost black colour. The RoseGold and Copper processes complement the open grain dark colored oak very well. Since there is a limited supply of bog oak wood, which is in the early stages of fossilization, the prices for this type of wood are very high.
